4070 Short throw deadbolt provides security for a conventionally projected bolt in installations where the long throw MS deadlock cannot be used. The smaller 4070 deadbolt offers the longest practical throw from a narrow stile. For installation where the long-throw MS deadlock cannot be accommodated, the smaller 4070 deadbolt offers the longest practical throw for a conventionally projected bolt from a narrow stile. Operates with one-half key turn of any standard mortise type cylinder or cylinder type thumbturn. This product is not designed for use in bottom rail. 180° turn of key or thumbturn projects or retracts the bolt. Lock accepts any standard 1″ [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32″ [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinder or thumbturn with special cam dimensions. Lock accepts cylinder from either or both sides.

Specifications:

• Cylinder Backset: Select 7′ [2133.6 mm] or 10′ [3048 mm] door height. The standard version is designed for 7’ [2133.6 mm] door height, with cylinder height as low as 35″ [889 mm].
• Case: Hexagonal 3/8″ [9.5 mm] flat to flat. Made of stainless steel.
• Bolt: Exact adjustment of threaded rod to door height is locked in place by hexagonal header bolt.
• Strike: For header bolt, a 1/2″ [12.7 mm] diameter hole in metal frame is suitable. For non-metal installation, 4005 strike is available separately.
• Faceplate: Measures 1″ x 5-9/16″ [25.4 mm x 141.3 mm].
• Special Cylinder Cam: Operable by any standard mortise cylinder with special cam dimensions. Cylinders with such cams can be readily obtained from most cylinder manufacturers.
