Refund and Returns Policy

At RMLock.com, we want to make returns straightforward while recognizing that many lock, key, access control, and security products have manufacturer, condition, and compatibility limitations.

Return Eligibility

Items may be eligible for return only if:

  • the return request is made within 30 days of delivery
  • the item is unused, uninstalled, and in original condition
  • the item is returned with original packaging, manuals, accessories, and components
  • the item is not designated as non-returnable below

We reserve the right to inspect returned items before approving a refund.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are generally non-returnable unless they arrived damaged or incorrect:

  • special-order or custom-order products
  • cut keys, keyed products, pinned cylinders, master keyed products, or other custom-configured items
  • electronic products that have been installed, programmed, activated, or registered
  • used, installed, altered, or damaged items
  • clearance, closeout, or final sale items
  • items missing original packaging or components
  • products restricted by manufacturer return policies

Return Authorization

Before sending anything back, contact us at service@rmlock.com or 1-855-975-LOCK to request return authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused.

Please include:

  • order number
  • item(s) you want to return
  • reason for return
  • photos if the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 5 business days of delivery. We may ask for photos of the packaging, shipping label, and product to help resolve the issue quickly.

At our discretion, we may offer a replacement, store credit, partial refund, or full refund depending on the circumstances.

Return Shipping

Unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defective item, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law or unless the return is due to our mistake.

We recommend using a trackable shipping method and appropriate insurance. We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit back to us.

Restocking Fees

Some returns may be subject to a restocking fee, especially on special-order, supplier-return, or manufacturer-restricted items. If a restocking fee applies, we will let you know during the return authorization process.

Refund Timing

Once an approved return is received and inspected, refunds are typically issued back to the original payment method. Processing time may vary depending on the payment provider and financial institution.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled before shipment if they have not already entered processing, fulfillment, or special-order status. Some cancellations may be subject to fees if costs have already been incurred.

Exchanges

If you need a different item, the fastest approach is usually to request a return authorization for the original product, if eligible, and place a new order for the correct item.
